Located in Hampshire on the south coast of England they design and manufacture:
*Flight deck avionics: - Sensors and cockpit display systems for most of the world´s leading aircraft manufacturers of civil and military aircraft, fixed and rotary wing. *Data acquisition systems: - Flight data recorders, health and usage monitoring systems and engine monitoring units for civil and military aircraft, fixed or rotary wing. *Instruments and life support: - Electro-mechanical instruments and military aircrew oxygen systems - design, manufacture and support benefiting from over 40 years´ experience.
Due to the growth of their business they currently require a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team in Hampshire.
The Role
As Senior Systems Engineer the main remit of your role will be to develop and implement structured engineering solutions to meet programme requirements across the whole development lifecycle to agreed schedule, quality and cost requirements.
Key duties include;
To capture, define and manage requirements Compile plans, estimates, task lists and risk management plans Define strategies in order to comprehensively review and exercise designs to detect defects and evaluate features Ensure systems architectures are developed Construct and implement embedded solutions Generate, perform, approve and validate results of verification plans, test plans, analysis, test case design and other specific kinds of tests Understand and implement the requirements for certification of safety critical products Working with customers and internal departments and providing effective technical support Provide technical leadership in the area of expertise
The Person
The successful candidate will have a background in systems engineering with a good working knowledge of the avionics or defence industry, including military experience. They will be qualified to HND or degree level, or the equivalent, in systems engineering, mathematics, physics or another appropriate engineering discipline, with an excellent working knowledge of current Systems Engineering standards and techniques. The successful candidate will also have experience of taking on a technical design lead role in systems development.
Ideally, the successful candidate will also have experience in aircraft equipment design, a good knowledge of aircraft certification requirements. Experience of using DOORS or a similar requirements management tool is also desirable.
