Electrical And Electronic Architecture (E2A) Project Manager Based in Warwickshire our client is the UK division of a major global manufacturer of armoured military land vehicles which have been used to support armed forces and security personnel around the globe. A small but rapidly growing and highly focussed business unit, their ballistic and blast-protected vehicles and research on countering improvised explosive devices (IEDs) put their technology at the forefront of providing lifesaving armoured technology for land forces worldwide. They currently require a dynamic and motivated Electrical And Electronic Architecture (E2A) Project Manager to be based at their office in Warwickshire. Role: To deliver an E2A for a major armoured vehicle programme, with applicability to this vehicle's global marker and, potentially, other land platforms within their portfolio. Deliverables: " A Light Protected Patrol Vehicle (LPPV) design available by end Mar 2010. " An applicable global design available for DVD in June 2010. " An integrated design available for first-off production LPPV by October 2010. Assumptions: There will be a design partner and integrator partner managed by the E2A PM for the execution of these deliverables. It is expected that the partners will be selected before the end of February 2010. Capabilities and experience: " Several years industry experience in the design, development and fielding of electrical and electronics systems on military ground vehicles. " Experience in systems architecture development. " Clear understanding of open electrical/electronic architectures, with ideally, experience of developing GVA (Generic Vehicle Architecture) or existing VSI (Vehicle Systems Integration) standards. " Systems engineering knowledge and familiarly with systems engineering life cycle is desirable. " Experience of requirements capture and preparation of specifications and ICDs (Interface Control Document). " Experience of the management of the integration and test of electrical and electronic systems in military ground vehicle vehicles. " Demonstrated project management skills, including preparing technical statements of work. Organisational position: Reports to the Chief Engineer in a cross-functional (cross-platform) role.
