Senior Repair Vendor Specialist – West Sussex - up to £50k
Our client is globally recognised as a major stockist, distributor and repairer of aircraft spares. This privately owned and highly successful company is based in West Sussex and due to an increase in business load they are currently recruiting for a Senior Repair Vendor Specialist. This is a wide ranging role focussing on the development of long term relationships with a preferred supplier base that is completely aligned with our clients demanding business requirements. It will involve the improved delivery of repaired items to the business based on a range of criteria including component turn times, quality, price, warranty and performance guarantees. The business sub-contracts over 24,000 component repair orders to the value of $100m annually and is seeking a highly competitive and consistent performance from its vendor base which currently numbers up to 200 suppliers. The role will involve the implementation of procedures and systems to always deliver cost-effective relationships with only the best performing vendors. Key actions will include: Vendor Selection:
· Review and understand the OEM, airline workshop and specialist MRO options available to sub-contract component repairs across all Air Transport Association chapters · Collect and maintain a range of capability data regarding each vendor · Maintain a database of supplier sourcing options by price, turn time and guarantees against part number. Contract review and agreement:
· Drive, co-ordinate and control the contract negotiation process for each vendor · Ensure a satisfactory level of preferred vendors and second sources to meet current and future demands · Coordinate internal procedures to work with chosen suppliers as required · Negotiate most favourable terms to ensure all quality, delivery and cost criteria are met Vendor Maintenance
· Monitor vendor performance across a range of criteria relevant to the business · Prepare regular reports, scorecards to give early visibility of upcoming events · Conduct regular vendor performance reviews · Maintain an appropriate vendor database for reference and to aid rapid decision-making on alternative sourcing · Investigate and resolve all invoicing / payment issues if/when they arise Applicants should ideally have a detailed knowledge of aircraft components gained preferably from an international OEM or airline MRO business. Proven substantial experience is required and an engineering qualification would be a distinct advantage. Good negotiating skills and contract knowledge would also be an advantage.
